Bio
Christopher teaches international law and legal theory at the School of Law, University of KwaZulu-Natal. His research focuses on Black Internationalism, Third World Approaches to International Law, Critical Race Theory, and Law and Literature. Since 2015, he has been a faculty member of the Institute for Global Law & Policy at Harvard Law School and has previously been a visiting Fellow at the University of Oxford and Harvard Law School. His most recent publications appear in Alternation, the UCLA Law Review and the Routeledge Handbook of International Law & the Humanities (2021)

John Paul is an Associate in Bowman's Technology, Media & Telecommunications sector where he advises clients in various regulaoted sectors and markets including telecommunications and broadcasting, education, automotive and consumer goods. Before joining Bowmans, John Paul worked as a Senior Researcher at ALT Advisory (2019), as Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the South African Institute for Advanced Constitutional Public, Human Rights & International Law (a Centre of the University of Johannesburg, 2016), as lecturer at Strathmore University, Kenya (2015) and as Senior Research and Teaching Associate at the University of Witwatersrand (2012-4). John Paul completed articles during 2017-8 and was admitted as an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa in 2019. John Paul is a member of the Global Business and Human Rights Scholars Association (Leavey School of Business, Santa Clara University). He holds LLB (with Distinction), LLM in Public International Law and PhD (Corporate Criminal Liability in International Law) degrees from the University of the Witwatersrand.
