Khalil Badbess 

Award: 2024-2025 Hauser Global Scholar for his LL.M. study at the New York University Law School 

Khalil was the founding Editorial Lead of the Eastern African wing of the Afronomicslaw Academic Forum and later served as its Overall Co-Lead. He holds a Bachelor of Law (First Class Hons.) from Strathmore University Law School. He is one of ten Hauser Global Scholars, selected from thousands of applicants, to study a fully-funded Master of Laws at New York University Law School. Khalil was awarded the scholarship on the basis of his academic track record, his leadership ability, and his potential to contribute productively to a global community of scholars. 

Khalil is interested in studying the links between international economic law and development and, additionally, the tensions between international economic rules and domestic constitutional rules.
