8th Biennial AsianSIL Conference: "What Place for International Law in the Asian Future?"
For the first time in its history, the biennial conference of the Asian Society of International Law is to be held online. The conference will be held from 24 to 28 May 2021 (plenary conference*) and the PhD Students Workshop will be on 20 to 21 May 2021.
The conference will include sessions in a range of formats including an opening plenary, academic presentation sessions, curated discussions/roundtables, networking sessions and a PhD Students Workshop.
This Call for Abstracts invites members of the Society and the international law community to submit abstracts for short presentations at the biennial conference. We are also inviting proposals for panel discussions with a moderator and 3-4 presenters. When submitting a panel proposal, we encourage you to have a gender balance of panellists and a mix of Junior and Senior Scholars.
We are also inviting expressions of interest from Higher Degree Research students who wish to participate in the PhD Workshop which is part of this conference. Unless speaking in another capacity, PhD Students are asked to apply to present at the dedicated PhD Students Workshop rather than at the 8th Biennial AsianSIL Conference.
