On Saturday 10 August, African Nazarene University prevailed over Strathmore University in the final of the 2019 FDI Moot All Africa Regional, and will receive the 2019 Wilmer Hale Prize (USD1500). The Tribunal of Joseph Matthews (presiding), Steven Finizio and Wilson Mbugua adjudged David Salaton (ANU) to have been the best advocate of the final and recipient of a USD500 prize sponsored anonymously on behalf of IATL and its past-President Noel Ferris. On Friday, Kabarak University achieved 3rd place before a Tribunal of Hugh Carlson (presiding), Kristina Klykova, and myself. The top 3 AAR teams are eligible to seek support from the Thomas Wälde Fund for their travel and accommodation at the Globals in Miami. Three Crowns LLP has donated USD3000 to the Wälde Fund earmarked for 2019 African teams. The best advocate of the preliminary rounds was Mishael Wambua of Strathmore. The following 9 advocates were honourably mentioned: Cindy Rennys Miyoma (Kabarak); Najoli Major (Kabarak); David Salaton (ANU); Muchiri Samson (Kabarak); Grace Walioli (ANU); Nashipae Chebet (Kabarak); Thabo Magubane (University of KwaZulu-Natal); Nonopa Vanda (University of KwaZulu-Natal); and Dalisu Mtshilibe (University of KwaZulu-Natal).
